SEO and AI search glossary

The terms behind the work.

AI visibility

AI visibility is how often, and how favorably, AI assistants and AI search features mention your product, link to your pages as sources, or recommend you when buyers ask questions about your category.

Fractional SEO

Fractional SEO is a senior SEO lead who works part of the week for your company and owns the decisions: what to build, in what order, and how results get measured, while the work is done by them, your team, or both.

Generative engine optimization

Generative engine optimization (GEO) is the work of making your pages, and what other sites say about you, more likely to be used, cited and recommended when AI systems write answers to the questions your buyers ask.

Revenue attribution

Revenue attribution is connecting the revenue from paying customers to the channels, pages or campaigns that touched them before they bought, using a model that decides how the credit is split between those touches.

SaaS comparison page

A SaaS comparison page sets your product beside a named competitor or a group of alternatives, on the criteria buyers actually use to choose, so someone already deciding between options can see which one fits them.

Self-reported attribution

Self-reported attribution means asking new users or customers how they found you, usually with a "How did you hear about us?" question at signup, and counting those answers alongside the click data your analytics records.
